Direct Assistance for Refugees

| Overview

CWS offers two programs that provide direct assistance to refugees eligible for services through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR):

  • Reach Program
The Reach program is designed to help refugees build stability and lay the foundation for long-term integration and well-being. In partnership with each client, CWS offers supportive services that promote early self-sufficiency, employment, social adjustment, educational and economic empowerment, and healthy living. While Reach prioritizes services for clients in their first two years of ORR eligibility, support is available for up to 60 months from the date of eligibility.

Services include personalized coaching and assistance with applying for and renewing public benefits, job search support, financial planning and budgeting, and referrals to health care, ESL classes, and other community resources.

  • Preferred Communities (PC) Program
The Preferred Communities program provides case management, benefits navigation, and referrals to community resources for ORR-eligible individuals in Colorado. Limited financial assistance may also be available, including one-time rental support and emergency food assistance.
